The first part of August we went to Idaho Falls to visit family. My younger brother, Dwight has a horse named Belle that he let the boys ride. Ben & Mark really enjoyed doing that but Stephen hated it. He was so afraid that "Belle" would buck him off. We walked him around the yard once and then he got right off. This is the first time he had ever been so close to a horse.
Stephen is going into the 4th grade. He still loves to have his pictures taken. He loves to read. I am always trying to get him to do something else besides read ALL the time. I know, I should be grateful that he likes to read so much, I just worry that he doesn't want to do anything else. I hope he has an enjoyable year. He and his friends will be riding their bikes to school.
Mark is a senior this year. He did not want me to take his picture before he went to school on the first day. He said I only needed to do that for little kids. :-) Mark will be very happy to be finished with high school. He is taking German 3, Sports Medicine, Welding, Seminary... plus the required classes. He is a really good drummer and will be the goalie for the Springville High Hockey team.
August 19 was the first day of school for the boys. This is Ben's first day at the high school. He is a sophomore. He seemed excited to start school. He is taking several fun classes, Multi Media, Sports Medicine, Seminary... the rest are the required classes. Ben enjoys playing hockey and skateboarding.

Stake Youth Conference July 9, 10 & 11th. Ed and I were privledged to serve these great youth as "Ma & Pa". We ended up having 1 son and 6 daughters. We were able to perform Baptism's for the Dead on Thursday morning.
Thursday afternoon we went to the Oquirrh Mt. Temple Open House in South Jordan. Friday morning we were able to do several different service projects throughout the stake. This particular project was clearing away a whole front yard worth of weeds. These youth worked really hard.
We all camped Friday evening then came home Saturday noonish.
This was the view from the top of the mountain down to the Lake. We hiked down there and spent some time in canoes. Spring Creek 2nd Ward Girl Camp--July 20-July 24, 2009 These are some of the most amazing young women. I had the opportunity to spend the entire week with them and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. We were able to stay at the Heber Valley Girls Camp Ground. It truly is a sacred place.
Spenser Flitton is home!!! He flew in to the Salt Lake Airport 7-24-09 @ 6:30pm. He doesn't look exhausted but he was. Welcome Home Spenser!!!
